15 months today!!!

Finn is 15 months old today. I have been working (production management) on FringeNYC again. Although it's nothing like the hours I used to put it, I have been gone a lot. My mom came up for a week and the rest of the time Todd has had him.

Here are his highlights.

Although he can say ball, daddy, bye-bye, mommy, up, book, Joey and a handful of other things. He has refused to say them all of a sudden. Everyday, I say, "say ball, say ball, say ball, say ball, say ball, Finn, say ball". He just stares at me and says long monologues that are pure Finn gibberish (sounds a little Chinese if you ask me . . .). For one week and one week only he said ball and bye-bye when ever I asked him. Same thing when I asked him what sound animals make. He'll do it when he feels like it. You gotta catch him in the right mood.

He loves balls, he loves water. All of the playgrounds in NYC have these sprinkler things that he runs through and fills up his cups. He likes walking UP the slide, not so much with going down. He runs. Sometimes his feet go faster than his body and he takes a spill. Although I am very careful, we usually have a different scrape, bruise or bump daily.

I still haven't weaned him yet and I go through different feelings about it pretty much every day. When he's shoving his hand down my shirt on the subway, I think, OK, enough of this. But then in the morning when he's nursing and we're singing and "talking", I love it. I do feel like I'm becoming his pacifier though and it might be time to move on . . . kinda sad but probably time.

He and Joey still do not like one another and that just probably will never change.

He knows everyone in the neighborhood. When we go in to the deli for Todd's coffee and bagel the guys play jumping games with him ask him to do all of his tricks. ("Finney - jump, jump. Finney - dance, dance). The girls at Starbucks give him a stirrer as soon as we walk in and they usually take him from me. The shoe repair fella teaches him spanish, the crew at the smoothie place all wave out the window as we walk by. The waiters at Westway all know his order before we even order it. It's very cute and although I would love a yard and a car and S P A C E, there really is something incredible about being a New York City baby.

Dinner time

Oh my lord they're cute
Todd's b-day was August 15th. We had a little tiny surprise party for him. Here is Todd, Donny Vomit, Heather and The Lizard Man.
Yesterday I took Finn to the Children's Art Museum. He was a little bit too young for it (since he shoved a paintbrush with purple paint on in his mouth . . . ) It will be fun it the next few months I think.

On our way to the playground (he never uses a pacifier - he found this in the drawer and decided it was a fun toy for a while.)

This is him running through the playground. Running.

New Hampshire - July 2009

Finn and I went to New Hampshire to visit Shannon and Eliza. So much fun. It was great to have the kids together. They are two weeks apart and adored one another.

Look at that cute face. The future Mrs. Eliza Kate Robbins

Shannon's "home" gymboree. Pilliows piled on top on one another.

The beloved Elmo.

One the way to the lake
Taking it all in.
Finally in the water

Sharing a grilled cheese sandwich

Finn hates holding anyone's hand. But his loved his Katie (Shannon's mom)

Books and shovels. Could life be better?

This is his Chippendales pose

Once he got used to the lake he became fearless. He would crawl in to the water until he couldn't reach and then would doggy paddle. It was pretty cute.

Long day at the lake

I'm not touching you with this stick . . . I'm not touching you

Checking out the tires

There were rocks and sticks and mud and dirt. He was in heaven.

Thank you Shannie, Eliza, Katie and Gibby. We love you!!!
