Pier 84

While I was pregnant, this is what I envisioned in my head.

The baby would wake up around 7:00 AM. I would get up, bright eyed and bushy tailed and head over to the gym, while leaving Finn with his daddy. I would get home, take a shower, play with the baby, get some work done for 37 Arts, run my errands with a happy and cooing baby in the stroller, maybe stop in at happy hour with friends, again all with a happy, cooing, laughing baby in tow.

A little bit not so much at all.

First of all (and, yes I know, I should count my blessings) I can not get my child up before 9:00 AM. Ever. So our day doesn't even get started until after 10:00 AM. The gym thing, while important, has been losing in the battle. So therefore I have been trying to at the very least take long walks with Finn in the evenings. Our new favorite place is Pier 84 at 44th Street and The West Side Highway. Todd came with us the other night. It's a great walk and a beautiful view and sunset.

Home boy

I love this hat!
And yes, he has a cut on his face. I swear I file that boy's nails every other day. He has insanely fast growing nails. What can I say? OK, I gotta go file his nails now.

Gadgets and Gizmos

Since he is starting to hold on to objects and can hold his head up and make eye contact, I've begun to break out all the fun things we've either received as gifts or bought. Some things he loves, some things he's not ready for yet. Case in point. I saw my friend Shannon's blog that she was using her little be pod seat (or what ever it's called . . . we have a lot of things. A lot of things that have a lot of "cute" names). Granted, Shannon's daughter Eliza is two weeks older than Finn, but he was SO not ready for this thing. He also wasn't really in to the rattle thing I had on his wrist for that matter. He was pretty much just pissed off at me.

Loving the (still nameless) bear.

The Girl and Finn

We had a great time in Virginia but it's time for me to head back to New York and go back to work this week. *sigh*

The Boys

Daddy told Finn a joke Finn telling Daddy a joke
"Quick, Mommy's coming. Pretend we're not doing anything" "What . . . .?"

Also bad. . . .?

So maybe putting the changing table against the TV at my parents house is not the best choice? However . . . however, and hear me out people, he was learning about diversity.

This is bad, right?

I know, I know. I shouldn't let Joey get in the car seat with the baby. OK. I'll put a stop it.

Grandpa time - Puppet Show at Glen Echo

Grandpa and Finn in awe of one another.

"Wait, did you say something about puppets"?

Mommy and Finn

He has discovered he has a tongue. Shortly thereafter I discovered he's been drooling down my back. I guess it's time to pull out the burp-towel-over-the shoulder thing

Virginia

We're hangin' in Virginia this week while Todd goes off to make tainted and greasy money at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, then goes off to spend that tainted and greasy money in Vegas.

Grandma time

Despite those very charming grump faces, Finn loves him some Grandma time. And mommy loves giving him to Grandma during the grump face moments.

Bryant Park

Todd played piano in Bryant Park all last week. Finn and I went to visit on Monday and Wednesday. We also saw a lot of friends who dropped by. It was great!

The many faces of . . .

He's starting to figure out he can make different facial expressions and it's freaking hilarious.

"Ummm . . .way over-stimulated, people"

OK , let's come back to Times Square - never. Thank you very much.
